It makes him out to be unprofessional and tragic at best, and a con man at worst.īefore the update I would consistently see people firmly saying that it would never happen, I always believed Wollay would come back again and he did (and dipped again but he did lol). If you’re asking how it helps him in any other way, it doesn’t. not that the game would be as it is if he had fully developed it from the get go, that theoretical game doesn’t, and won’t ever exist at this point. It possibly helps him make more money than he would have had he completed the game without taking a “break”, since instead of one initial hype cycle, he ended up with two. Remember that this isn’t necessarily the truth, and may not necessarily work the way I’m positing, I haven’t looked at sales figures and haven’t seen Wollay’s bank account, I’m just trying to get you to understand the scenario some people in the sub think happened. This won’t work a second time since the full release was not well received, but that’s the theoretical point of the initial long con. He makes an underdog surprise return that garners mass support from everyone who had still frequented the sub, hyping people up and taking advantage of everyone who showed up late to the party after the initial alpha sale who were all asking how they could purchase the game, as well as anyone new who gets swept up in the way.
